Slimbook reveal the Ryzen 7 and RTX 3070 powered Titan

Slimbook, the Linux friendly hardware company that offers Linux as a choice on their hardware has revealed the powerful Titan laptop that's ready for pre-orders. Coming as a result of the recent announcements of new CPUs from AMD and new GPUs from NVIDIA, this Titan combines them together into one unit.

With a good screen to make use of all that power too, they've not skimped on the details for the Titan. You get 15.6 inches, with a 2560x1440 resolution and 165Hz. Plenty of screen pixels for the powerful CPU/GPU combination to move around.

    This week NVIDIA, AMD, and Intel all launched new chips designed for high-performance gaming laptops. And we’ve seen a lot of companies announce new notebooks powered by those chips. But so far most have had one thing in common: they ship with Windows 10.

    Now Spanish PC maker Slimbook has revealed new gaming laptop with an AMD Ryzen 7 5800H processor, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 graphics, and support for Ubuntu or Windows.

    The new Slimbook Titan is up for pre-order for 1750 € and up and the laptop should begin shipping in May, 2021.

    Dubbed the Slimbook Titan, the laptop is equipped with the AMD Ryzen 7 5800H processor, and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070, both of which boast impressive performance improvements over their rivals.

    Expectedly, the laptop isn’t cheap and is available at a discounted pre-order price of €1599. Best of all, the laptop ships with Ubuntu, though you can have it with Windows 10 for an additional cost.

    The Slimbook Titan is powered by an 8-core AMD Ryzen 7 5800H processor running at 3.2 GHz, the processor is based on AMD’s latest Zen 3 architecture which is a significant improvement over the previous generation.

    For gaming and other graphics intensive tasks the laptop comes equipped with a dedicated GPU, the Nvidia RTX 3070 with 8 GB of GDDR6 memory.

    The GPU is based on Nvidia’s Ampere architecture which brought in significant performance gains compared to the Turing architecture that came earlier, and in some cases even doubled the performance gain.

    Slimbook has released a monster of a Linux gaming laptop.

    For anyone looking to up their Linux gaming experience, the Spanish PC manufacturer, Slimbook, has announced a beast of a machine, called the Slimbook Titan. What makes this laptop so special is that it’s powered by an AMD Ryzen 7 5800H (with speeds of up to 4.4 GHz) and includes an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 GPU (with 8GB of memory). That’s a lot of power, which should be able to meet and exceed your gaming needs.

    The base model includes 16GB of 3200 Mhz RAM, but you can up that spec to either 32GB or 64GB. The default storage is a 500GB NVMe SSE, but can be spec’d out to 4TB (even including an optional RAID array).

    The aesthetics should please any gamer looking for a sleek machine. With a black aluminum body, a 15.6" 2K IPS display (with 165 Hz refresh rate), and a backlit (RGB lighting) opto-mechanical keyboard, infrared facial recognition (that works with Linux out of the box), this machine packs plenty of “wow” factor.
