TM Donation Drive

Site News

We haven't had a donation drive since 2011 and now is a good time. As some of you know, I recently lost one of my gigs and I've yet to replace that income. After a protracted illness, I'm feeling much better these days and have tried to ramp up my work around here. If you'd like to help keep TM coming to you, please see my donation page for details how to help.

Even when I'm not able to update the site as much as I would like, please note the feeds Tuxmachines pulls in. In the side columns below the fold are Linux.com, LinuxToday.com, and more. On the news feed page is a wider variety.

Hey, some may have noticed that we've been offline for a bit. We experienced some rather bad storms the other night and many lost electrical service. That includes me and tuxmachines. It's back on now and hopefully the predicted storms tonight won't knock us offline again.

In light of the malware scare yesterday, I thought it might be prudent to make sure everything else was up-to-date on security fixes as well. In addition, I've added a new theme for registered folks to try out.

Malware Warning (resolved)

Site News

I have been informed that my site was producing malware warnings from Google. Google web tools reported that some malicious ads were possibly being served through my OpenX ad server. OpenX has been removed and the database deleted. tuxmachines.org is completely safe as are the google ads that remain.
