Then, I hear gossip that has Dell thinking about selling computers through a series of channel dealers instead of its direct method. Next, we have Microsoft talking about some kind of “open source” model and finally, Hewlett-Packard has board room spies. The next ting you will tell me is something really goofy; like Pluto isn’t a planet anymore.
Anyway, it’s time for another survey of Who’s Hot and Who’s Not in the tech world.
First, the Nots, beginning with the aforementioned Dell Inc.
Also qualifying – though just barely - for the “not hot” list is Intel.
Finally, the Hot list now includes both RealNetworks Inc. and SanDisk Corp. a couple of respected industry players who appear to be teaming up to release a portable music player/service to take on iTunes and Microsoft’s recently announced music entry: Zune.
