Two Weeks Until Likely Updates To OpenGL, Vulkan
There is less than two weeks to go until SIGGRAPH 2016 kicks off in Anaheim, California.
The Khronos Group is today promoting their firmed up schedule for SIGGRAPH 2016. This consortium behind OpenGL, OpenCL, Vulkan, and other industry standard APIs traditionally releases updates to OpenGL at this annual event.
Khronos hasn't yet officially confirmed they will be pushing out a new OpenGL revision, but it's quite likely we will see OpenGL 4.6 unless it ends up being called OpenGL 2016, OpenGL 5.0, or something else... It will also be interesting to see if they end up releasing a major update to Vulkan or plan on continuing their (weekly) 1.0.x point releases for a while longer.
