PCLOS logo contest enters 2nd phase
I've posted the top 13 logos to the final folder. I've also re-enabled the gallery (voting is disabled on all albums). Voting is currently disabled on the final album since we have 2 wildcard entries that still need to be selected yet by our developers. I've combined the repeated logos to give the artists more of a chance (as promised) in this final competition and to allow more entries into the top 15.
I suspect that we'll have the 2 wildcards chose by Thursday this week and that voting will kick off on Friday or Saturday. We're going for the top 6 out of 13 images based on YOUR votes.

Samsung, Red Hat to Work on Linux Drivers for Future TechThe metaverse is expected to uproot system design as we know it, and Samsung is one of many hardware vendors re-imagining data center infrastructure in preparation for a parallel 3D world. Samsung is working on new memory technologies that provide faster bandwidth inside hardware for data to travel between CPUs, storage and other computing resources. The company also announced it was partnering with Red Hat to ensure these technologies have Linux compatibility. |

Meh
You have to register and login in just to LOOK at the possible logos (not talking about voting - just looking).
re: Meh
Yeah, that kinda sucks.

You talk the talk, but do you waddle the waddle?
Maybe
Maybe they should required a certain applet be loaded before you can login. They could call it LGA (Logos Genuine Advantage), and it would help them to insure that only legitimate art critics are looking at their logo samples.

Or since this is/was a
Or since this is/was a community led/driven/voted on project you could join the community and take part in it
I required a logon to control the voting otherwise, people would have to register two accounts...one at the forum and one at the coppermine gallery. I bridged the accounts which made it require a login at the bulletin board.
Just wanted to let you guys know since you were poking fun at it.

Ok
Don't get your crayons in a knot, it was just a little (tiny) dig at one more thing that requires registration.
Since it didn't require a blood sample - I signed up and voted - it will be interesting to see which one wins.
