Now Mozilla has announced that its Firefox OS will move to a similar release schedule, though security updates will be released every six weeks with new features released every three months.
According to Mozilla's manager of Release Management Alex Keybl, Firefox OS 1.0 skipped two releases of the Gecko rendering engine that powers it.
