Linux For The Masses
As long as it doesn’t change!
That’s what it feels like from everyone who wants GNU/Linux to be used. I’m in a group that’s considered outdated at best because I think everyone should know the command line, and how to really get things done. Yet, not once did I ever knock GUIs, I only stated that the command line is faster, and better in almost all cases. The GUI is just meant to be simple, period. Now the same people that say my way is outdated, and I’m one of the ones holding back the growth of Linux, which is as far from the truth as possible, are screaming that certain projects should stop what they’re doing and go back to the old DE of the GNOME 2 series. Their reason for it? If they don’t it will ruin GNU/Linux and it won’t be adopted by the masses.
