Eye Candy - not very useful
I don't see how this allows someone to accomplish any more than without these advances. It justs sucks up graphics card power for eye candy. Wouldn't most people rather use their hardware to get work done or at least play games than suck all the power out of the computer for their desktop.
re: eye candy
Well, it's just a cool thing to have. However, as I understand it now, it would come down to a choice between it and my games (as one has to disable opengl) ...I guess my games will have to win out.
Here's some more video from Novell.

Actually I would rather use hardware to look pretty and do no work at all. Believe it or not, there is more to life than getting work done... but since I have to spend a large proportion of my time at work, I would prefer my working environment to be as attractive as possible, including the desktop.
