Samsung, Red Hat to Work on Linux Drivers for Future TechThe metaverse is expected to uproot system design as we know it, and Samsung is one of many hardware vendors re-imagining data center infrastructure in preparation for a parallel 3D world. Samsung is working on new memory technologies that provide faster bandwidth inside hardware for data to travel between CPUs, storage and other computing resources. The company also announced it was partnering with Red Hat to ensure these technologies have Linux compatibility. |

Lots Better
Personally, I think it'll will be lots better. I don't want to say that it couldn't be worse than 2010, but I'm sure looking forward to better times in my own life.

2011 Little better
I think with the bad worldwide economy pushing many big companies to move to open source, hardware manufacturers will keep following the money and start releasing more drivers for Linux. One of the latest was Broadcom. I have even noticed a few pieces of hardware in the big box stores that have the penguin symbol along with the Windows and Mac symbols.
