The Mozilla Foundation has selected the 17 finalists for the Extend Firefox competition out of 200 entries. Spanning eleven categories, judges are looking for extensions that are "innovative, useful, and integrate with today's Web services".
The top winners will walk away with a new PC, while runners up will be in line for iPods and O'Reilly book certificates. Winners are expected to be announced mid-February.
There's some confusion as to whether Platypus made it into the finalists - it's mentioned as a finalist on Mozillazine but not on the Mozilla site.
