5 really good music players for Linux
One thing you’ve really got to admire about the open source application ocean is the wide availability of good, really good, music players.
1. Rhythmbox
This is the default music player in the Ubuntu desktop experience, and there’s good reason for that. Over the past few years, Rhythmbox has had time to mature and grow into a solid music playback environment without becoming too bloated.
2. Quod Libet
Quod Libet has always been one of my favorite open source music players. It shares many similarities with Rhythmbox, but it’s got a personality of its own.
The player is based on GTK and written in Python, a combination that has allowed for an exploding market of Plugins.
