Does Open Source really hate windows?
What is it with Open Source, more commonly Linux advocates, and windows? There seems to be an underlying theme amongst this crowd that they hate windows. They say that windows 5ux0r35 or mention it as windaze, windoze, winblows and many other derogatory terms and spelling plays. They seem to take as much pleasure as possible in putting windows down at any and every opportunity they can find.
Sure windows can be a frustrating operating system. It has it's faults and problems. So does every other operating system. Working on windows machines can be a real pain and frankly, to keep a windows machine running takes a lot more effort than other operating systems. Things like having to register with microsoft when hardware changes are too much, having a never ending battle against virus and spyware attacks. Is that all windows fault or is it a result of windows popularity with John and Jane Doe?
Personally I do not like windows. I used to be a real fanatic about it until I found the "one true calling" of Linux. I dislike windows for technical reasons.
