Acer Adventure 6: Fedora
The next Linux I'm trying on the Acer Aspire One is Fedora. Judging from their information page, Fedora 10, 11, and 12 all work on the Aspire One, with different limitations. Fedora 12 has a few too many unresolved issues at this time, so I've downloaded Fedora 11.
2. Installation. I just put the USB stick in the Acer, rebooted, pressed F12 to select the USB boot device, and selected Fedora 11 from the boot menu. After a minute or two it finished booting from the USB drive, and presented an "Install to Hard Drive" option on the screen. Clicking on that started the very familiar-looking installer.
Because I'm going to install other Linux distros, I opted for the "custom" disk partitioning. It reported /dev/sda1 and /dev/sda2 already in use (the Windows restore and Windows partitions).
The rest of the installation went automatically.
