Why isn't Linux perfect?
I am the IT admin of a local school. Our school runs a mix of Windows, Apple and Linux machines.
I am called for support on each of those OS based machines. I am called to help with problems on Windows machines, on Apple machines and on Linux machines. I have learned that there is no such thing as a Perfect OS nor is there any such thing as "perfect" software.
People have complained of Linux systems causing data loss. Wow, too bad the hundreds of system recovery businesses don't get those kinds of problems with Windows. Oh wait, that's the whole reason they are in business to begin with, Windows crashes and data loss. Wow, isn't that odd?
People have complained that adding hardware to Linux systems is too complicated. Yes, I know that feeling. It's very very similar to the feeling I get when chasing down drivers for un-supported or lost-support devices for Windows and Apple that get donated to schools all the time.
What about installing software in Linux. Wow, is that a hassle or what.
