Announcing Apperi - The Linux App Store
We are proud to announce the launch of the public beta of apperi.com. A new linux app store for Debian and Ubuntu users. Apperi.com currently supports users of Debian 4 & 5 as well as Ubuntu 8.04, 8.10, and 9.04 with a total of 119,295 packages. Apperi.com provides an simple search functionality on your distro of choice, user comments, popularity tracking and application installation via apt-url.
Apperi.com is headed by Ryan Quinn who is also the founder and lead developer of the currently dormant GNU/Linux distribution SymphonyOS.

Samsung, Red Hat to Work on Linux Drivers for Future TechThe metaverse is expected to uproot system design as we know it, and Samsung is one of many hardware vendors re-imagining data center infrastructure in preparation for a parallel 3D world. Samsung is working on new memory technologies that provide faster bandwidth inside hardware for data to travel between CPUs, storage and other computing resources. The company also announced it was partnering with Red Hat to ensure these technologies have Linux compatibility. |
