is ubuntu superior?
Due to the agreement between our Education Department and Microsoft I work in a Microsoft centric environment. So when our network manager recently became very enthusiastic about the latest Ubuntu release (9.04), I asked him to spell it out. This is what he said:
Ubuntu is better than Windows (eg. Vista) as follows:
managing memory
* easier to install virtual box, for testing multiple OS environments
* managing multiple OS environments

re: is ubuntu superior
Time to find a good network manager instead of the flake you have now.
Packets are packets. The network doesn't care what OS systems use, so why does the network manager?
OS's should be chosen by what APPLICATIONS they support, not because some geek is drooling over the latest religion of the month.
As to Ubnoobtu being more stable - BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA - not in this universe.
What a troll...
OS's should be chosen because of both the APPLICATIONS and their SECURITY, which is something Microsoft clearly fails at.
Windows stable? Buahahahahahah! I got the BSOD during installation yesterday. Talk about unstable! It didn't even want to install at all. This machine happily runs Linux, though. And what about that bloat? Man, everytime I install any brand of security software, and it doesn't matter which one, my machine suddenly becomes about 2/3 the speed it was prior. Say goodbye to that rocketship Core i7 processor. It'll run like a P3 after Norton's gets installed!
