Lend your voice to a good cause: LibriVox
LibriVox provides totally free audiobooks from the public domain. There are several options for listening. The first step is to get the mp3 or ogg files into your own computer.
LibriVox volunteers record chapters of books in the public domain, and we release the audio files back into the public domain. Our objective is to make all books in the public domain available, for free, in audio format on the internet. We are a totally volunteer, open source, free content, public domain project.
LibriVox is a hope, an experiment, and a question: can the net harness a bunch of volunteers to help bring books in the public domain to life through podcasting?
Once we get the files, we catalog them, and podcast the books, one at a time. Lend your voice to a good cause.
