Ways to help FOSS: Bug Reporting and Triage
There is always a cry for help within the FOSS community, and always a need for people to jump in and offer their skills to help solve a variety of issues that crop up in any community, regardless of how big.
One of the biggest is bug reporting and triage. Now some of you might ask, "What's Bug Triage?" Simply put, bug triage is the process by which bugs are assessed, categorized, sorted, and processed based on set of criteria or guidelines.
Really, bug triage and bug reporting are two of the easiest jobs in the Linux community, and two of the most neglected as well. The biggest problem with bug triage and reporting is that people get the disjointed idea that you either have to be a power user or a programmer to report or triage bugs.
