"man pages" and why to use them - and in text format too
This is for you new to Linux users out there who are still not sure about things and are a bit panicky with the "CLI", "Command Line Interface" or "Terminal". Both are "basically" the same thing and for the sake of what I'm talking about here, they are!
Some simple commands can kill your system, and there are those out there that take pleasure in getting people to do just that. They'll even make the command more complicated so you, a new user, might think something that impressive has to work! ... WRONG!
With Linux you are in command of your computer, you tell it what to do, don't let someone destroy your system because of a wrong command!
Go slow {I really should follow my own advice!}, ask questions, and above all, when in doubt: check the "man pages"
"man pages" --> man = Manual, it's your Linux "Help Line" or Linux "911" if you want.
So if someone tells you, in a post, to go to the "CLI", "Command Line" or "Terminal" and type in this command:
