Cloudera is releasing a Linux distro for Hadoop, the cloud-computing technology behind Facebook, Google and others. Cloudera's Hadoop is aimed at regular enterprise data centers, and aims to make big data-processing capabilities accessible for all companies. Cloudera will serve as a one-stop shop for Hadoop installation, configuration and support.

Inspired by Google's MapReduce and Google File System research papers, Hadoop is a cloud-computing technology for storing and processing petabytes of information on systems comprised of hundreds or even thousands of servers, said Cloudera CEO Mike Olson.
