Laying foundations
If you’re not involved in Fedora already, you might not know that we have four foundations that guide what we do: Freedom, friends, features, first. If you look at what they mean you’ll see that these four foundations are the core values for our community — the beliefs that guide our actions and how we work with the FOSS community.
I love this graphical expression of the four foundations because it’s so indicative of what Fedora is about. The ideas of flight, togetherness, technical achievement, and pushing limits — with attractive colors and the visual tie-in to the Fedora logo just fill me with warm fuzzies. The Fedora Design team, by the way — a community team — came up with all this in a collaborative process months ago, in association with our equally community-powered Fedora Marketing team. Of course, like everything else in Fedora, we did it openly, in the community, with 100% free software.
Why do I call your attention to the four foundations?
