Mandriva, gimme a break, will ya?
So I installed for a second time Mandriva 2009 XFCE. OK, it's not an official Mandriva product, but it's using its packages. And it's annoying.
With Linux, you should never assume that, once you liked a release, you'll like the next release, roughly six months later. Since TPG got so very offended by my frugal notes posted here and here, I gave a second try to Mandriva 2009 XFCE.
So I installed it. It's cute, it supports JFS partitions, and this is exactly why it was eligible for the installation.
As expected, once I selected a US English keyboard and US English as a language, the Europe/Bucharest timezone could be selected, but Romania was missing from the list of countries.
This time I was too angry to accept United States for a location (I would then default to Letter paper format and all that stuff), so I hit Cancel.
