The LXF Guide: Top 10 Firefox add-ons
Firefox 3 may have introduced a number of new features, but it is the ability to add extra functionality with the use of extensions that remains one of its biggest assets. There are hundreds of extensions to choose from - some enable you to change the look and feel through the use of themes, while others add more features, such as weather reporting or time zones in the status bar. Some are clearly less useful than others, but there are a large number that any regular Firefox user should never be without. Here we'll take a look at 10 add-ons that every Firefox user should install today. Some extensions will install directly from the web, but others will download as zip files. In this case, you need to extract the file, open the Add-ons window (Tools > Addons) and drag and drop the .xpi file onto the add-ons window.
FasterFox

Firefox is pretty fast, but doesn't always win in the speed stakes. If you want to render your web pages faster, then you can mess about changing the options in about:config, or you can simply download the FasterFox addon. You can either choose from four one-click speed-up buttons, or if you are someone who absolutely has to fiddle with every last option, choose the Custom setting and tweak away to your heart's desire.
