What a Linux Mobile Device Needs
With the coming Linux powered devices, there are some things that I think are necessary for success. Hardware, system, and price all play a role in the overall success of a device.
1. Hardware
The hardware in a device should be simple: It should have an ample screen resolution (e.g. 320×320p), it should have wifi, and should be able to fit in a pocket. Devices that are too large can’t be taken in pockets such as UMPCs are pratically useless if you have to take them somewhere.

Samsung, Red Hat to Work on Linux Drivers for Future TechThe metaverse is expected to uproot system design as we know it, and Samsung is one of many hardware vendors re-imagining data center infrastructure in preparation for a parallel 3D world. Samsung is working on new memory technologies that provide faster bandwidth inside hardware for data to travel between CPUs, storage and other computing resources.
