Your Linux Computer Can Support A Different Window Manager!
If you have ever read my comments on the PC World forum, it is obvious that I love Linux. But many people are afraid to use a new operating system because they are so attached to Windows. They are scared of the possibility of having to use the command line!
But there are window managers for the X Window System on Linux that can spread all of your programs out onto a desktop, just like Microsoft Windows.
There are several alternatives that can make your desktop look snazzy and less puzzling. These are just a few of the many that are out there!
AfterStep - AfterStep was originally made to look like NeXTSTEP, but has changed a lot over time. It contains buttons for switching desktops, a list of open applications, and a docking utility that can dock and launch programs. It also support themes, customizable wallpaper, and color schemes.
