The chicken or the egg: Ubuntu on ftp.gnome.org
A few minutes ago, I went to ftp://ftp.gnome.org/. The first thing I noticed was that releases is a symlink to mirror/ubuntu-releases/. Is Ubuntu that important to consume GNOME's bandwidth?
Incidentally, www.gnome.org is hosted by Red Hat, Inc., whereas ftp.gnome.org is hosted by Umea University, Sweden, but is this a reason for GNOME to mirror Ubuntu, Ubuntu, and Ubuntu only, from all the distros that include GNOME?
Which came first, the chicken or the egg? GNOME or Ubuntu?
