The Mark of the Beast
A US SITE purporting to be a Christian resistance group [www.TheResistanceManifesto.com] is calling for a boycott of the VeriChip implantable microchip.
The site calls VeriChip "the mark of the Beast" as referred to in the Bible and claims that VeriChip is planned to rapidly replace credit and debit cards. In fact so far VeriChip has only been touted for use in medical cases and the press release was only issued after we wrote this article.
The www.TheResistanceManifesto.com site has been getting a lot of attention from the main stream American press lately after site owner John Conner called on pop diva Jessica Simpson to reshoot her ‘slutty video’.
"It's disappointing to have Jessica, a pastor's daughter and Christian role model, join the ranks of the 'singing strippers' such as Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera" Connor said.
"She has one of the most beautiful voices, and is a very beautiful girl, but it's sad to see her whore her self out like this. What's worse is that pastor, Joe Simpson is Jessica's manager, as well as her father."
But while the mainstream media thinks it might have found the voice of the young Christian Right, they might like to look at the site a bit closer. The site is owned by John Conner - the same name as the Terminator hero - and is full of tin foil hat wearing paranoia, but it is carried off in an amusing way.
There is footage of the Young Connor "proving" that his local Masonic hall is a meeting place for Satanists by holding up an inverted pentagram painted on a rubbish bin lid.
The American press may be taking this guy and his "organisation" seriously, however our money is on it all being a wind up. We might be wrong.
