Adventures in Ubuntu: Installation and Connecting to Stuff
My project this weekend was to install Ubuntu on my laptop. Ubuntu is a Linux based OS, it comes bundled with a lot of cool stuff (more on this later) and it is of course free.
It is also, from what I’ve read, a less scary Linux, so perfect for non techy peeps like me. I was using Windows XP on my laptop and because I had never had any kind of truck with Linux before I thought it best not to abandon Windows completely.
After doing a bit of research I came to the conclusion that the best course of action was to download Wubi. Wubi allows you to run Ubuntu without having to mess about with repartitioning, which can be a bit scary for noobs such as myself.
