Easy CD ripping with Konqueror
We live in a world of sound. Many sounds are jarring and loud like traffic or construction work. Other sounds are dull and boring like elevator music. Still more sounds are pleasant and exciting like the voices of our loved ones. With these sounds we have no choice and have to listen to them when they are issued. The sounds we do have a choice over is the music we listen to. Those of the older generation will remember with fondness the black plastic disks with which they treated with such care and respect. The current generation has ipod's and nano's (I don't meant the text editor) and all sorts of portable music players. The biggest problem is how to get the collection of silver plastic disks converted to electronic form for those portable grooving machines.
Enter Linux and more specifically KDE's Konqueror to the rescue. Konqueror allows you with a single drag and drop action to convert your music CD's to several different file types.
