Time for a switch?
There's been a lot of talk about how good Vista and OS X is, however few know about how good the free and easily usable Linux and its 'distro's ' (short for distribution) are. A few years ago most people thought that Linux was only for people who were tech savvy and knew computer code and it wasn't for the normal home user!
However Linux has come a long way in the past few years and has made a almost made a niche among the users and the best part of Linux is that its free. Linux has various distributions available for download. Some like Red Hat are for servers while some like Ubuntu its cousin Kubuntu, OpenSuse and Fedora are for the desktop. First, a bit on Kubuntu - easily the best operating system from the Linux stable as its based on the Ubuntu core system. Kubuntu's installation is very easy, and maintaining it once it's installed in your machine is also so simple that you may feel that Kubuntu almost falls into your machine like a ying to the hardware's yang.
Installation
All one has to do is download the 'ISO image' from the linux site or send a request to http:// shipit.kubuntu.org. Once installed Kubuntu makes itself at home on your machine directly installing the drivers for your sound card, graphics card and printers.
