Hello AIGLX For fglrx?
Yesterday in the forums I created a thread called Hello Catalyst Control Center Linux Edition! with the AMD 8.35.5 Linux drivers, but will Hello AIGLX! be the next big announcement?
It is going on a year since the release of X.Org 7.1 and almost six months since NVIDIA had introduced its GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap support, but the ATI/AMD binary drivers continue to lack support for AIGLX. The open-source Radeon drivers up to and including the R300/R400 series support AIGLX, but the R500 (and shortly R600) users are left in the dark.
While the introduction of the AMD Catalyst Control Center Linux Edition was a huge and overdue change, it turned some heads but not everyone.

Samsung is working on new memory technologies that provide faster bandwidth inside hardware for data to travel between CPUs, storage and other computing resources. The company also announced it was partnering with Red Hat to ensure these technologies have Linux compatibility. |
