Some Howtos:
This document aims to explain how to install and configure SquirrelMail on a machine to act as a webmail interface for AXIGEN. It also focuses on what would be the best choice as a webmail interface in different scenarios.
In the following section the two implementations are compared to help administrators decide whether they want to keep AXIGEN WebMail or set up SquirrelMail.

I bought a Western Digital NetCenter drive in anticipation of switching to Linux not too long ago (wanted a place for multimedia). While Windows had no problem using the shares I set up on the drive, getting it to work in Linux has been a nightmare. After a lot of failed discussions in #ubuntu on the IRC Server, as well as a post on the Ubuntu Forum that went unanswered for a month, I figured out the problems and decided to post my own tutorial so that poor schmoes like me searching for NetCenter-specific information could find it.

I've decided to make the leap into Ubuntu; well sorta. I'm going to run it in a Virtual Machine for now. I'll set it up in a multi boot on my main pc once I'm more familiar with Linux and related stuff, but then again I may keep it running in a virtual machine if virtualization works out well enough.
Below are the steps I took to get things setup.

The following article is a brief summary of different approaches of music file encoding I’ve used and a few thoughts about how to put them to use. Various encoding utilities such as lame, oggenc and flac are used throughout this article.
The Lightweight Directory Access Protocol, (LDAP) is a networking protocol for querying and modifying directory services running over TCP/IP.
LDAP server (such as OpenLDAP or others) uses the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol. In order to use Squid LDAP authentication you need to tell which program to use with the auth_param option in squid.conf. You specify the name of the program, plus command line options.
Squid comes with squid_ldap_auth helper. This helper allows Squid to connect to a LDAP directory to validate the user name and password of Basic HTTP authentication. This helper is located at /usr/local/squid/libexec/ or /usr/lib/squid or /usr/lib64/squid/ directory.

After you’ve used Firefox for a while, you may have the desire to tinker around with the userChrome.css file and tweak it a bit for your likes or dislikes.
For people who, like myself, are trying to get good at Linux by using Ubuntu, sorting through things at the command line is a tad intimidating, but I’m going to walk you through it and show you that it’s not so scary. In fact, I’m actually using my command line a lot more these days in Linux.
I’m going to give an example using one of the simple things you can do with the userChrome.css — we’ll change the sidebar from opening on the left to opening on the right. I’ll show you both ways in Ubuntu, the terminal way, and the file manager way.
