We are plugged into the open source community in India, says MD of Red Hat India
The adoption of technology is gathering rapid pace in India and open source software has come to play a critical role. Enterprises today have moved beyond the stage of experimentation and gone into mode of firm adoption with regard to open source software. Red Hat, as one of the leading open source software products companies is on the path to deliver secure, reliable and agile systems to enterprises. Rajesh Rege, managing director—India/ Saarc, Red Hat, in an interview with PP Thimmaya said the vibrancy of India’s technology ecosystem has created a strong platform for deeper engagement with open source software. GITAM signs MoU with Red Hat Academy
GITAM University is establishing ‘GITAM Red Hat Academy’ to train the students enterprise-ready. For this, the university signed an MoU with the world reputed Red Hat Academy organisation here on Tuesday. Red Hat Academy is an open source, web-deployed and web-managed education programme that is designed to provide turnkey curriculum material to academic institutions to start and sustain an open source and Linux curriculum programme.
GITAM Institute of Technology Principal Prof K Lakshmiprasad and Red Hat Academy APAC Lead Shirish Pandey exchanged the MoU documents in the presence of GITAM Vice-Chancellor Prof MS Prasada Rao, Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof K Sivaramakrishna and Head, Computer Science Engineering Department Prof K Thammi Reddy.
