Howto Install Java
While many distributions already have Java installed, several don't. Installing Java in Firefox or Mozilla is really quite an uncomplicated process, but can look daunting to a Noob.
First, open a console and make a directory for java. mkdir java (enter) Directory is made.
Next, open Firefox and at the address bar, type about:plugins This will tell you what is installed within Firefox. If there are programs listed, scroll down and make sure Java is not installed. It isn't? Great! Here we go.
