Top 10 Linux-Based Gifts for 2013 Under $400
This year's list of the top 10 cool Linux-based gifts has dropped the price limit from $500 to $400, with seven candidates falling below $300. If your budget runs a bit higher, there are plenty of other embedded Linux goodies out there, and if the sky's the limit, you might try the 2014 Motor Trend Car of the Year: the Cadillac CTS. Like the 2013 winner, the Tesla Model S, the CTS features a Linux-based in-vehicle infotainment system. Samsung, Red Hat to Work on Linux Drivers for Future TechThe metaverse is expected to uproot system design as we know it, and Samsung is one of many hardware vendors re-imagining data center infrastructure in preparation for a parallel 3D world. Samsung is working on new memory technologies that provide faster bandwidth inside hardware for data to travel between CPUs, storage and other computing resources. The company also announced it was partnering with Red Hat to ensure these technologies have Linux compatibility. |
