Linux drivers for ATI Radeon X1K on their way
While ATI remain comitted to monthly Catalyst driver releases for Windows, Linux users seem to have less faith in support for their OS. ATI could be about to change all that, however.
The current release of the ATI driver for Linux does not include support for any of the X1K series of cards, something which has left a number of ATI card owners wanting to try (or already using) Linux disgruntled.
The new driver - 8.24 - should be rearing its head sometime this week. When we asked our source about Theatre 650/550 products in Linux, however, the story isn't so good.
