Ubuntu: First Time User's Experience

Day 0 - The Installation

My name is Lee Thorn, I’m a 21 year old Windows user from London, England and I’m about to install and use ubuntu, my first real linux experience.

I’ve started this blog to document my struggles and victories with the world of linux. As I said this is my first real linux experience, I installed fedora core once before about 2 years ago and that lasted all of 3 hours before I got rid so bear with me as I’m pretty much new to all of this.

After downloading the install version of the .iso from a euro mirror and burning it to a cd-rw I said goodbye to Windows for the rest of the early morning as I promised myself not to boot back into it.
