101 Most Fun Open Source Games and Apps
As we do every summer, we've pulled together our list of 101 of the "funnest" open source apps ever created. Of course, most of these are games, but there are also a few fun non-games at the end of the list.
Arcade Games
1. Bombermaaan
This is a remake of the classic Bomberman game where you blast your way out of a puzzle using bombs and other tools. Up to five players can play at the same time on the same system, or you can play against the computer. Operating System: Windows, Linux.
2. BZFlag
Short for "Battle Zone Capture the Flag," BZFlag is a multiplayer, online 3D tank game. More than 300 people run online servers, so it's usually pretty easy to find a game to join. Operating System: Windows, Linux, OS X.

Samsung, Red Hat to Work on Linux Drivers for Future TechThe metaverse is expected to uproot system design as we know it, and Samsung is one of many hardware vendors re-imagining data center infrastructure in preparation for a parallel 3D world. Samsung is working on new memory technologies that provide faster bandwidth inside hardware for data to travel between CPUs, storage and other computing resources. The company also announced it was partnering with Red Hat to ensure these technologies have Linux compatibility. |
