The People Who Support Linux: You
If you talk to the Fortune 500 companies, they will tell you Linux is running everything. The operating system has become so dominant over the last decade that it's become the fabric of computing across geographies, markets and industries. It has done this with the support of people like you.
Every person in the community is responsibile for this success. Linux is built collaboratively by more than 8,000 developers from more than 800 companies. But so many more people contribute to Linux in a variety of ways, from sharing the latest story on Linux.com to making a video about how to use basic Linux commands or participating in the local Linux User Group, to name only a few examples.
You can also support the work of Linux creator Linus Torvalds and the Linux operating system by becoming an individual member of The Linux Foundation.
