Firefox hits out at monopoly playing Microsoft
ONE OF the lead designers at Firefox has hit out at comments by Microsoft employee John Carroll’s bizarre claim that Volish monopoly tactics helped the IT industry.
Carroll claimed that Open Source markets grew because Vole had preinstalled Internet Explorer.
This comment miffed Blake Ross [http://blakeross.com/2006/03/28/gratitude/] who started the Mozilla Firefox project who said that the only people who benefited from the Volish tactics were the pop-up ad industry which boomed while the IE team sunbathed in Maui for the past four years.
