Gaël Duval Bids Farewell to Cookers
In a tear-jerking last farewell, Gaël Duval says goodbye and thanks to the developers on the Cooker Mailing List. I felt my heart sink as I read the touching note as now it is for real and not just headlines. It's just too sad. His words:
I just wanted to say goodbye to you, Cooker Members.
You have always been an amazin support to Mandrake/Mandriva. As you kow I've been thanked by Mandriva but will start a new OS project called Ulteo (http://www.ulteo.com).
It's funny to think back at 1999 when I needed a name to design the devel version of Mandrake Linux, and thought of "Cooker". It wasn't particularly a "sexy" name nor planned to stay, but now we all use it as it was very natural
Kind regards and respect, long life to Linux & Free Software,
Gaël.
We'll be keeping our eyes open for more on Ulteo (http://www.ulteo.com) for sure.

Ulteo
I wish I knew more about Ulteo. I think Gael was right about the desktop and I believed in him. Too bad he lost control of his dream.
