Mandriva 2011 RC 1 Released, Almost
Eugeni Dodonov announced the release of Mandriva 2011 RC1 earlier, but I'm still waiting for it to hit mirrors. He did actually said it was "coming," so his announcement could be considered a big ole tease. In fact, I hate it when a release is announced and we have to keep checking the mirrors for it to actually become available. But they do this every time.
Anyway, he said, "The images are built and are undergoing an internal testing right now, and unless any critical issues are discovered, they will be pushed to the mirrors in the coming hours!"

Samsung is working on new memory technologies that provide faster bandwidth inside hardware for data to travel between CPUs, storage and other computing resources. The company also announced it was partnering with Red Hat to ensure these technologies have Linux compatibility. |

Re: Mandriva 2011 RC1
Yes, just checked the first-updated French mirrors, and they're still at beta 3.
Among the list of changes, I see they've finally incorporated the Mandriva Control Center into KDE's "System Settings".
They've got to do something to differentiate themselves from the free (and very good) release of Mageia1. The Mandriva forums are starting to look like a ghost town.
ghost town
Mandriva forum is still active. Mageia forum is dead as hell.
