Ubuntu 11.04 Beta 2 Released
Ubuntu 11.04 Beta 2 has been released today that brings many new updates and fixes. This is the last beta before the final Ubuntu11.04 release on April 28. There will be no release candidate.
Changes in Ubuntu 11.04 Beta 2
* Classic Desktop has been restored. Changes like global application menus and single unified menus have been reverted on user demand.
* Compiz Grid plugin (Similar to Aero Snap) has been made more robust with animation effects.

Samsung, Red Hat to Work on Linux Drivers for Future TechThe metaverse is expected to uproot system design as we know it, and Samsung is one of many hardware vendors re-imagining data center infrastructure in preparation for a parallel 3D world. Samsung is working on new memory technologies that provide faster bandwidth inside hardware for data to travel between CPUs, storage and other computing resources. Ubuntu 11.04 Beta 2 Released
Woo hoo. Found enough bugs with beta 1 that I hope to see fixed up in beta 2. For some reason, I find most applications that usually minimize to the system tray when the "X" is clicked, simply disappear but continue to run in the background where you can't access them anymore. Xchat is one victim of this. Hoping to see this issue fixed in beta 2. I'd blame Xchat but it wasn't the only app I had that happen with.
