The World Is Mourning The Loss Of Bruno Knaapen – Linux Advocate
I joined Scot’s Newsletter Forum back in April, 2003 and took advantage of one of the forum’s Linux advocates. We knew him simply as Bruno, a man who knew Linux, and who had the patience to deal with us newbie’s who hounded him for advice. Bruno detested the word ‘newbie’ and made a point to correct anyone who used the term. He fondly called those trying to learn Linux, just ‘new Linux users’. Nothing more, nothing less.
I knew little about the man called Bruno. I knew he was a Linux advocate and he knew Linux inside out. He was patient with those who were trying to learn the OS and he always had the answer to any question that was posted in the forum.
Today a post on Scot’s Newsletter Forum advised the members that Bruno had died from brain cancer. He was 59 years old.

Samsung, Red Hat to Work on Linux Drivers for Future TechThe metaverse is expected to uproot system design as we know it, and Samsung is one of many hardware vendors re-imagining data center infrastructure in preparation for a parallel 3D world. Samsung is working on new memory technologies that provide faster bandwidth inside hardware for data to travel between CPUs, storage and other computing resources.
