Where is the value in Linux?
I am pretty sure that the question in the title is asked quite a lot. Especially by enterprise managers and bean counters the world around. When that question is asked of us, how should we answer it?
It is a rather difficult question because the actual meaning of value is different, depending on the individual person or company. Value can be monetary, philosophical, usability or support based. Or even a complicated combination of all of the above, and more.
For me personally, Linux is valuable because I have the freedom to use my computer in any manner which I see fit.
