Mandriva Linux 2010 is on the road

Work on Mandriva Linux 2010 release has already started for some weeks now. Final planning is finally out, you will find all details below. So first milestone is planned for 18th of june.

2010 specifications are on the way and will be stored in svn. pdf file will be provided in wiki as during next week. This new coming release was also a good opportunity to launch Mandriva IdeasAs. This new web tool is dedicated to Mandriva community. Any user can easily submit proposal. It’s all free, you just need to register and get a Mandriva account.

BPF continues marching forward as a universal, in-kernel virtual machine for the Linux kernel. The Berkeley Packet Filter was originally designed for network packet filtering but has since been extended as eBPF to support other non-network subsystems via the bpf syscall. Here's some more details on this in-kernel virtual machine. Alexei Starovoitov presented at last month's Linux Foundation Collaboration Summit in Santa Rosa about BPF as an in-kernel virtual machine.
