Watching your hard disks is a S.M.A.R.T. thing to do
Almost every aspect of our daily and business lives are stored on hard disks. But the hard disk is a mechanical device with moving parts. You know what that means. Eventually they will fail and unless you have a backup you will also fail, in the eyes of those seeking blame. Even better, to look like a hero in those blame filled eyes it pays to be smart.
Just about every new hard drive that I know of has smart built into it. This S.M.A.R.T. is Self Monitoring And Reporting Technology.
