Linux SysAdmin Toolbox 1 and 1A
Running Linux has come a long, long way. With tools like Webmin and SUSE's YaST, it's getting to the point where you can almost run a Linux system without ever having to dig into the command line and shell programs. Almost.
When things go bad, and they always do, you really need to know at least the basics of the most important command line interface tools.
Excuse me as I smile for a moment. The idea that I'd ever have to explain to a Unix/Linux audience the advances of the command line interface over a GUI is one I'm still getting used to.
For decades, people's biggest compliant about Unix/Linux was that you couldn't do anything with it outside of the command line. My, how things have changed!
