Hans Reiser's Father Doing Courtroom Pushups; Warns of 'Techno-Geek SNM Crowd'
The Hans Reiser murder trial drifted into the netherworld here Wednesday after the defendant's father took the stand, at times rambling uncontrollably and apologizing for it.
"That's a weakness of mine. I'm sorry," testified Ramon Reiser, a Vietnam veteran and mathematician who said he often thinks aloud to formulate answers.
An hour later, after countless "non responsive" and "this is a narrative" objections from Prosecutor Paul Hora, the witness testified he was hit by a bus ten years ago and has not been the same mentally. "I talk in a spider web…and often I lose track of where I was."
(During a brief break, the 65-year-old witness performed one-armed pushups on the bar separating the gallery from the rest of the courtroom, outside the presence of jurors.)
