VectorLinux - The Pefect Installation and Setup

VectorLinux is based on Slackware and the goal of the Standard Version is to support especially Internet workstation on older machines. They decribe the softwae as: “Secure, stable and sleek” but also “incredibly fast” on modern computers.

This is a detailed description about how to install and set up VectorLinux.

The VectorLinux Website is very well prepert to get all information you need for the installation, but also to get help or proper ducumentation in case of problems.
The following versions are curently released:

Vectorlinux-5.8-SOHO-RC – the Small Office/Home Office Edition
VectorLinux-5.8-standard-GOLD - this is their foundation edition - a freely downloadable distribution,
VectorLinux-5.1 and 5.8 -LIVE Edition - the LIVE Editions are bootable CDROM's which contain the entire VectorLinux operating system on the CD
VectorLinux -5.8-DELUXE and SOHO Deluxe Editions – available on the CD-Store

Step 1 Installation:

This is the first screen you will see after launching the installation process. You will have the possibility to select other boot kernels by pressing F1.
